I chose Precision because I could not wait several days to have the garage door opener repaired or replaced. Earlier that day I had to leave my garage door open while running errands because it would not close. When I finally got it closed, I called a few garage door places. Only Precision was able to give me a next-day appointment. When Bobby arrived, he explained that my unit was 21 years old, and suggested several replacement options. I highly recommend Precision because of the tremendous customer service.

The job did not proceed as smoothly as expected and required my active involvement to ensure the work matched what had been discussed and approved. This caused the installation to take significantly longer than necessary and made the process feel more like ongoing negotiation than straightforward execution. While the final outcome was resolved, the experience raised concerns around consistency, efficiency, and customer trust. Since the company asked for feedback, I felt it was important to share this so it can be addressed internally and help protect the company’s reputation. I actually called Gaithersburg. My expectations were not met. Jay was professional but we started on the wrong foot. I did not expect to need all the items he suggested. I thought he was overselling. That it's likely that one needs to replace more parts should have been mentioned when I first called. The price of the springs were higher than the highest range given to me. I could tell that Jay was annoyed. And thus, I did not feel good about the experience. A more realistic expectations about total price ( i.e. needing to replace multiple parts) would have made for a better experience. The live operator when I called was very important in choosing Precision.

My technician Tito Cruz came to the house and was able to fix the problem 100% to my satisfaction, but more importantly to me this particular visit was he was able to resolve another issue of me not being able to connect to the MyQ app in order to open and close the garage door remotely. This extra step, that Tito helped with and was just a request from me while at my house, will now allow me to have the ability to do that and I really appreciated him working with me and being able to do something that several technicians in the past have not been able to achieve.

I had an appointment scheduled with Jay between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM. Around 1:00 PM, he called to ask if I was available earlier. I told him I wouldn’t be leaving work until 2:00 PM, but I didn’t clarify that I wouldn’t be home until around 3:30 due to my longer commute. Jay arrived shortly after 2:00 PM, assuming I’d be home soon. Unfortunately, a heavy storm hit, and I didn’t get home until 3:55 PM. Around 3:15, he called again, but the rain made it hard to hear, so I just shouted that I’d be home by 4:00. I didn’t realize he had already been waiting close to an hour, thinking our appointment had effectively moved up. At 3:25, I received a text saying he would need to reschedule. At the time, I was frustrated, thinking he showed up too early and then canceled—when in reality, it was a mutual miscommunication. To be honest, I didn’t handle the situation well. I was upset, and my frustration came out unfairly. Despite the confusion, Jay remained calm, professional, and respectful throughout. He ultimately returned, completed the garage door repair efficiently, and handled the whole encounter with great professionalism. I appreciate Jay for keeping his composure and following through on the job. He demonstrated excellent customer service, even when I didn’t make it easy. The total price of the repair was $1,423 to fix the door panel, springs & pulleys.

Nicholas Broughton was the technician who serviced our door. He replaced two broken springs and installed a center header, which the system lacked. Apparently that is quite a dangerous situation. Nick left his own cell number in case my husband had questions that I couldn’t answer. He really went above and beyond, was very kind. He is a wonderful representative for Precision….Josette, who answered the phone, was very nice, very helpful and quite knowledgeable. We are looking into a replacement for our very old door!

When I tell you this is one of the best experiences I've had for anything repair related, I mean it. From the friendly woman that helped me on the phone to the phenomenal job done by the technician (Jay) - I am more than pleased! Not only were they able to accommodate me the same day and earlier than I hoped, but the job was done fast, explained well and left me feeling much more confident than ever in knowing it was done right. I cannot thank Jay enough for his help because I would have been stressed out if he wasn't able to fix my garage door AND the cost was reasonable! SO SO happy!
