On a very hot day, the service man, Jay Constantine, was knowledgeable, professional, efficient, courteous, patient, and affable. The price to replace my LiftMaster was nearly $1000, however, about twice as much as anticipated.
- Douglas Smink
I wasn’t to please with the price or the warranty. The technician was professional and courteous to what was needed for our door.
- Bryan Redd
Precision was able to provide a temporary repair which I appreciate as I was unable to close the door leaving my valuable items exposed. The technician Keion was very professional and apologized for the late arrival. I gave 4 stars because I was scheduled for the time frame of 8-10:30 AM per the email confirmation. However, by 11:30 the technician had not arrived. After calling customer service I was told the email was inaccurate and the technician should arrive by 12 noon. At 1:24 PM the technician had not arrived so I called customer service again and was told someone was running behind but would call when in route and asked if I wanted to reschedule. That was poor customer service in my opinion because no one called to say anything. I understand delays happen but communication is key when running a business. Had it not been for the sense of urgency I would’ve canceled the service call simply because of the poor communication.

Overall, the service was okay. I was disappointed that the service repair man charged me an extra $200.00 for a tune up, which he said was required in order to replace the plain loop cable. I didn't feel like I had any other choice but to accept that charge because he told me that in order to replace the cable, that he had to loosen the tension on the garage spring and after replacing the cable, he had to tighten the spring, and this is considered a tune-up. I think this should have been considered a part of the job of replacing the cable. I'm still not sure how loosening the spring and tightening the spring can be considered a tune up, however, what could I say. Also, when the repairman was about to leave, he told me that I had to open the garage door manually, because the track was off and he did not have any track with him. After I told him that I had to use the garage door opener and I expected the repair to include correcting the problem, he fixed the track. If my situation wasn't an emergency, I would probably have gotten another estimate to be on the safe side, because when I got the first estimate, he recommended replacing everything with exception of the garage door, which he said would cost me over $1,500. I hope this is helpful.
- Denice Johnson
Austin was terrific, very professional. I just don’t understand why you charged almost $1200 to change the door springs when the national average is $200-400. I needed it done, but I feel like I’ve been ripped off.

When I called the Precision Garage Door company, the first person I spoke with gave me an appointment for the next day. I called back in a few minutes, however, to see what I needed to do to get a "same day" appointment (since that's what is advertised on the website). After my second call, I did, in fact, get a "same day" appointment, the tech was at our house within an hour... which was GREAT!!!, the job was explained and completed within 30 minutes, and the garage door seems to be working fine. So why 3 and not 5 stars???... Here's my issue - the cost for the work done was RIDICULOUSLY HIGH!!! Even as I'm writing this review, I could KICK MYSELF for paying!! We had very similar repairs done by this company in 2015 (i.e., replace the extension springs, pulleys, and cable wires) and the cost for this job was about $500.00. This time around (May 2023), however, the cost for this job was over $1300.00!!!... and that was the second/middle option!!! If I would have accepted and done everything the tech recommended, the cost would have been almost $2000.00!!! I showed the tech my 2015 receipt, kept asking questions about the price, and really tried to understand why the prices were so high... and although I never felt good about the prices, I eventually, gave in because we need our garage. So, just add this review to the many others that address the RIDICULOUSLY HIGH prices associated with the Precision Garage Door company... and be prepared to spend LOTS of money if you use this company!!! I will not use them for any repairs in the future.

I got called thru Angi's list, your call center called quickly and was very courtious but failed to mention there would be a service charge and was not very accurate with quotes he supplied. The service man was great, on time, knowledgeable, but also never mentioned the service charge until after he spent some time and his prices were hundreds of dollars more than the first call. As a result nothing got done and an average rating for personalities but a one star for prices.
- Don Osmun
We are still experiencing the same issue and do need a service call again. Please call me at 410-979-4360

I was very pleased with the friendly, professional service of the technician, Nick. The garage door opener was not working. Nick diagnosed the problem, made adjustments, did a tune up, lubrication, and a safety inspection. The problem was resolved, the opener is now working with no problem and the price was reasonable. Thank You.

Chris was on time and courteous. He pointed out that my garage door opener was 12 years old and needed some repair and 2 springs instead of just one. I asked if it would be better to get a new basic garage door opener and he said he would provide 3 options. The least expensive option was over $2100. I considered that outrageous and declined. Instead I paid $60 for a service call in which Chris reattached two pieces above the chain sleeve allowing the garage opener to function again. While Chris was not pushy regarding any purchase, I would caution potential clients do some homework/research prior to making any expensive purchase.
- Jay Corbino
While Chris the tech seemed nice and knowledgeable about garage doors, the prices charged for a door tune up seemed to be high - $250 for per door for a tune up where all he did was lubricate one of the doors appears a bit much. The other door he at least had to get out his drill/driver and adjust the tracks. I will definitely check pricing with other firms next time I need a tune up. You have a highly profitable business where you can collect $629 for an hours worth of work. Glad I fixed my other door myself and saved some money.
- Robert Hackman
Taylor did a great job, he was very professional in his approach and explaining what he was about to do, he had everything he needed to do the job. Since I was in a rush to get this repair done, I accepted the price which by the way I thought it was way to high, but the rush drove me to accept, once finished, I google for more options and found ones half the price of what I was charged, $600 is way to high, found that the national average is $250 to $350 both springs included, labor and materials. Will I recommend Precision? Depends on your urgency!! Do they give good service? absolutely Yes!! Keep up the good work guys but try to bring your prices down a little. Thanks FaRo.

Overall Rating (3 Stars) See Details Below Total Price Rating (5 Stars) Friendliness of Technicians Rating (5 Stars) Capability of Technicians Rating (5 Stars) Job Preparedness Grade (3 Stars) The Technicians arrived without having all of the equipment they needed and had to almost immediately leave to purchase supplies at Home Depot. At the end of the day they realized that they did not have the bottom door sensor and they would need to return seven days later to finish my door. Overall Quality of Work Rating (2 Stars) The work was completed and the door opener functions properly, but the overall appearance of the wiring and the safety sensor look messy. Metal shavings were left for me to clean up, a rubber mat on the floor had a junk ripped out from it, and an oil like liquid was spilled and left on a portion of one of our tables. Office Communication Grade (0 Stars) I had to contact the office after a few hours of waiting for technicians to arrive on the day they had committed to. After calling the office realized they had not received my garage door opener and they had to reschedule another day to install. The office sent me an email scheduling the second day of installation to be Thursday, I emailed them back and requested it to be moved to Friday. I never received a reply. The technicians actually arrived on Wednesday.
- Kevin Sommerdorf
The technicians were adequate. I considered the price for parts was excessive. After the 3-year warranty expires I will shop elsewhere.
- Sandra Gardner
Sandra, Thanks for your review of our company, services and technician. We value the feed back from our customers and offer the best service in our industry. Each of our technicians are fully trained and certified through extensive background checks. Our prices are in line with the superior products we offer and it is at a slightly higher cost than some of our competitors. I hope you consider using us again in the future.
So the original estimate was a great experience. I would give it 5 stars. The guy was friendly, knowledgeable and seemed straightforward regarding what would be needed to replace my garage door. I got the estimate and it was more or less competitive with the other estimate I had just received. Again, still 5 stars. But then I call them to ask a few questions and find out how early I could get the replacement scheduled and that I'd give 1 star. I called the only number they have (a 1888 number) and the "scheduling dispatch" while nice enough couldn't do anything for me.... He couldn't answer my question about the quote (he'd have to have someone call me back)... and he couldn't tell me how long it would take before I could have the door installed (i.e. the scheduling dispatch couldn't tell me when they could install the door that they priced for me... again, he'd have someone call me back). Of course at this point I am a bit frustrated and he has the nerve to ask "is there anything else I can do for you" again... he is still pleasant... but calling in was useless... there might as well just be an answering machine because he couldn't help me at all. Needless to say, I think I'm going to go with the other company.
- Erin Cannon
5 star- very professional job by technician Sherman. Friendly and patient in answering our questions. Would recommend.
- Delores Dabney
too expensive
- Mark Rahnama
Thank you for your review. Our prices are higher due to the fact that we only use quality parts and highly trained technicians.
The opener was installed insecurely. Some of the connections between the drive and the door were not fastened securely. One was only fastened with a bolt, lock washer, and nut when the instructions call for a clevis pin and a round locking pin. This connection came apart after only 10 -20 cycles of the door. Another of the drive connections was correctly connected with a clevis pin, but it was unsecured. There was nothing put through the hole in the pin to secure it. All the pivoting connections between the drive and the door are sloppy and have way too much play in them. The other parts of the installation were accomplished adequately.
- Brian Rogers
Thank you for allowing us to make the correct adjustments.
Service seems to be OK, however I am sitting here now at 10am waiting for a door installation, scheduled for 9, that does not appear on your schedule. What
- Jack Bell
We're glad we were able to complete this installation. Please know that we offer a window of time (8-12) in anticipation of traffic, etc.
I had one spring and wheel off the track on one of my doors. I called Precision Garage Doors because I had used the company before and their information was right on the wall near the remote opener. I did not expect to spend nearly $500 to repair the one side. But the technician replaced the springs, coils, and wheels on both sides of the garage door. I went to Lowe
- Alton Davis
We appreciate your business. Our prices are a little higher than others because we use only high quality materials and parts. Thank you.
I was quite disappointed in with this experience. My worst with any service repair over the last 20 years for anything in house. I was quoted lifetime warranty on the phone, and i was also quoted that labor is included in the material price. But it turned out warranty was only 5 years and labor was extra. I was in a corner as needed to get somewhere today otherwise would not have gotten the work done. I was asked to pay in advance which again puts a bad taste to begin with....as a result i did not even tip the technician (which is what i generally do). I would have rated it even worse, but towards the end the technician did a good job and made my experience a little better. A 2-3 inch ballbearing coupling for $45. I am an engineer and know what those cost. That is an obnoxious price and taking advantage of the customer when he is already hooked and technician is at the door.
- Sunil Lingayat
Thank you for your comments. We appreciate your input and allowing us to discuss with you over the phone. Our technicians do a great job of explaining to you, since they are in your garage. The person who answers the phone is not in your garage and cannot not see what is needed.
The positive: This was Barry's third time at my home to repair a broken garage door spring. He is a very nice, polite, well-mannered man and always performs a thorough professional service. The negative: Your garage door springs seem to have an average life span of about 3 years. It would seem to me that they should be more durable and last longer. I can't imagine my next garage door spring repair bill since my warranty will expire in 2013. When they eventually break, I may forced to shop elsewhere for service because I suspect the rates for new springs with labor and service call will become unaffordable.
- Max Giammetta
Thank you for your comments and allowing us to make things right by talking to us. We do use high quality springs, which last 30000 cycles. It appears there may have been a batch that was not quite right, and we are looking into this. We are glad you were able to bring this to light, so it can be corrected.
Torsion Spring broke. Called precision from google. Setting up appointment was easy and same day. Dispatcher gave a 2 hour window (12-2) for arrival, called at 11:45 to advise it would be closer to back end of window and called again at 12:45 to say they would be here in 20 minutes, which they were. Technician, Barry, was professional and knowledgeable. Explained what he would do and what it would cost. Pricing seemed high at $220 for new spring + $45 for new center bearing + $49.95 for service call charge, but what do I know about gargae door repairs. Total repair job took 2 guys 1 hour. $335 including tax. Checked on manufacturers pricing after the fact and torsion spring is $40 item. My fault for not checking earlier. Looks like they did a good job, but you might want to check pricing at other providers.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your comments about our customer service and technician . We strive to make sure customers are aware of scheduling delays as well as what repairs are needed. Our costs may appear higher than what you will find on the web, but there are factors that play into that: the price of steel has gone up 12 times recently. We use only high quality high cycle springs, unlike what you will find on the Internet. Our technicians are highly trained and certified, our trucks are fully stocked. You will certainly find cheaper prices, but you will be buying cheaper parts, that will ,most likely need to be replaced soon. When researching, please check the number of cycles. We have the highest cycle life. Thank you for your business.
Tech was prompt, took half a look and said you need a new door, no attempt to go near it! Surely he could have at least made some attempt.
- Joseph West
Spoke with customer. Door in bad shape. Needs replacement.
While the service was impecable, I was disheartened with the cost. The service call was $49 and was not applied to the work I needed done. I had two brackets installed which took ten minutes and another $99. The total was so high that with another 50-100 I could have had a whole new opener...for just two brackets? Really? Sad....
- Deborah Sullivan
Thank you for your comments. Our service charge covers the trucks, technician time and cost of fuel. We use o ly high quality parts, and certified technicians.
